What to consider when choosing electric bikes

When choosing electric bikes, there are three items we need to consider.

1. The motor is the core

In principle, motors are divided into brush motors and brushless motors. In terms of speed, they are divided into high-speed motors and low-speed motors. Generally speaking, brushed motors have short life, large losses, simple control and low cost. Brushless motors are better, but the total cost is higher and the life of electric bicycles is longer.

2. The battery is important

There are many types of electric bicycle batteries, including lead-acid batteries, nickel-hydrogen batteries, nickel-cadmium batteries, polymer lithium batteries, zinc-air batteries and so on. Lead-acid batteries are the most commonly used. They are large in size, heavy in weight, relatively cheap and have a short service life, but they can be recycled. The second is lithium batteries, they are smaller, lighter, longer life, charging and discharging are more random, and batteries of the same capacity are expensive. The battery capacity corresponds to the cruising range, the greater the power, the stronger the cruising ability.

3. Brakes

There are two main types of electric bicycle brakes, disc brakes and hub brakes. It is best to choose a disc brake first. This kind of heat dissipation performance is good, frequent braking is not easy to break, more stable and safe, but the cost is higher.
